Director-General of the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO), with more than 20 years of experience in Plant Health. EPPO is an intergovernmental organization, with 52 member countries responsible for cooperation in plant health within the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Role of EPPO in BeXyl Project: Project partner. Active participation in: 1) new strategies and improved methods for surveillance, early detection and monitoring of Xf and its vectors, 2) the use of thermal treatments for sanitation of plants and production/trade of Xf-free nursery materials, 3) tools supporting the design and implementation of tactics and strategies to mitigate the impacts of Xf infections, 4) stakeholder engagement, dissemination, and communication.
