The experimental plan of the project is organized in the following Workpackages: – Improve early detection methods and knowledge of pathogen biology and spread factors – Development of genomic tools and identification of the basis of Xf resistance for their application in screening of germplasm, in genomics-assisted selection and in the introduction of new olive tree genotypes resistant to Xf. – Innovative therapeutic approaches to control Xf in host plants and improve plant resilience. – New insights into Xf-plant-vector interactions and entomopathogenic microbial resources, towards practical and innovative solutions for the control of Xf vectors and the interruption of Xf transmission. – Integrated and optimized management strategies in modern cultivation systems in the context of climate change and scarce water resources. – Creation of an advanced data sharing and processing platform for Xylella research.

Biovexo
As a response to the increasing Xylella outbreaks in Europe, the BIOVEXO Project explores innovative biopesticides, which target the Xylella bacterium. Six candidate biocontrol solutions acting either against Xylella or its vector will be tested within the BIOVEXO...
